With this repair, we will be replacing your broken MacBook screen panel with a genuine brand new screen panel, reusing the original aluminium lid, which must be flat, and unaltered in shape; please read this description in full before booking! This will resolve any issues with lines, cracks, ink marks and general damage to the screen, however the screen does need to light up still (displaying lines/cracks/ink marks, or even just a faintly lit black/patchy screen); if not lighting up at all, replacing the screen may not resolve the issue, contact us if this is the case. Usually most repair shops (including Apple) replace the whole lid assembly instead of just the screen panel, which is significantly more expensive, and in the case of an independent repair shop, will often be a low quality 3rd party replacement with a lot of issues, since this is the only other cheap and easy alternative.

Please note, there are advantages and disadvantages to replacing just the screen panel instead of the whole lid, please click here to see a full list of the benefits and drawbacks. By booking this repair, you acknowledge that you have taken the time to read the description on this page, and viewed the advantages and disadvantages page, so you fully understand the repair process.

We are not replacing the whole aluminium lid assembly, if the sides or corners are bent or dented in, please contact us with photos before booking; it may not be possible to replace just the screen panel! Chips and cosmetic marks won’t cause an issue with fitting, along with very shallow surface dents on the top of the lid, but the lid needs to be in shape and straight to allow us to fit the screen panel in. Please close the lid and check all sides to make sure it is flat, and then check the sides and corners when the screen is open and you are looking directly at the screen. If the lid is in shape, and the screen lights up with image issues, this is the repair you need. If unsure, please always contact us before booking for advice, since there is a non-refundable charge to cover our postage costs, time and card merchant fees, if not proceeding with the repair once we receive the MacBook.

We will replace the bottom glass strip located underneath the screen with a new genuine replacement at no charge during the repair; if your screen is working fine and just the bottom glass strip is cracked, please click here instead, since we can replace just the bottom glass strip if required, for a lot less.

If your screen is working fine, but there are glowing liquid marks inside the screen, this repair will not resolve your issue. You will need the backlight sheets replaced instead, and you can find more details by clicking here.
