About Us

Our aim is to offer affordable options for MacBook repairs to customers located anywhere in the UK. We carry out the more specialist complex repairs which other shops do not carry out.

At eFix, we started repairing MacBooks in 2015 with the belief that customers should have access to a highly specialised MacBook repair company, from anywhere in the UK. Instead of having to rely on Apple's expensive offerings, or a dodgy high street phone repair shop, we are a company which only fixes MacBooks and know them back to front.

There were plenty of repair shops, however they would specialise in Apple devices and most of their workload would be iPhones; this is still the case now, and you will struggle to find a company like us which is only repairing MacBooks. Often, you will notice that companies will have multiple websites for each type of device they repair, to appear like they have a specialisation.

From there, we started and continue to do just this over a decade later. Amassing over 2000 5 star reviews, without becoming a "jack of all trades" repair company, we are extremely proud to be able to offer a focussed premium repair service which chooses to do this one thing with efficiency.

Our History

Starting in Southend-on-Sea in 2015, we started by carrying out screen panel only replacements to MacBooks, being one of the only companies advertising this for the first generation Retina models in the UK. We started to offer logic board repairs the same year, on top of other basic repairs for all models of MacBook.

We were operating a small retail shop in the Leigh-on-Sea area which was perfect for our needs as we grew and established a reputation. Offering a base of operations for our mail-in repairs, whilst having a retail location for the benefit of local visibility, we built a number of lasting relationships with local companies and customers; many of which still use our postal repair service today!

In 2020, we started to become a lot busier and over the next few years, reorganised the layout of our shop multiple times to use the space as effectively as possible. By 2023 however, we hit our limitation of what was possible in this space; we had to move to a bigger location.

In this time, we explored options of bigger retail locations, warehouses and units in the area; we gradually came to the realisation that we didn't need to pay the premium for a retail space, and we didn't need to stay in Southend.

In 2024, we took a big risk and relocated to Peterborough, occupying a warehouse unit for storage, which contained an office space for our workshop. The risk paid off, we were now central to the UK, and had 4x the space we previously had; this allowed us to stock an enormous amount of parts, and increase our capacity for repairs along with specialist equipment.

To this day, we remain in Werrington, Peterborough offering MacBook repairs to the surrounding area, with the majority of MacBooks still coming in via our secure courier service nationwide.

Getting The Job Done

Specialising in fixing just MacBooks has allowed us to keep up to date with the latest repair techniques, as well as having the expert equipment required to do the job properly.

Our workshop is equipped with standard micro-soldering tools found in the majority of workshops; multiple soldering stations, hot air stations, microscopes, ultrasonic cleaners and thermal cameras, all which help us diagnose logic board issues and carry out component level repairs at a microscopic level. For screen panel replacements, Air Science Laminar Flow Cabinet to filter dust at an ISO Class 4 level, heat mats to heat screen assemblies evenly for removal, and tools for the removal and preparation of the new panel. Specific data recovery equipment for models utilising the 'Lifeboat' connector, sensor programming, donor boards for logic board repairs and more, we have it all.

However, equipment is half of the battle; without parts in stock, we wouldn't be able to repair anything! For nearly every model and year MacBook, we have screen panels, trackpads, keyboards, batteries, sensors and more. You name it, we most likely have it. Even pre-cut adhesives for different models, screws, bezels, ports, the list goes on... we try to keep everything in stock, so you are not waiting for us to order parts across.

Our Goal

We have one goal, to offer you the best repair experience possible at the most affordable price. All aspects from quality of repair and knowledge, to customer communication, we try to exceed your expectations.

With more than a decade of experience, a no fix, no fee service with insured postage both ways covered; we aim to be the go-to choice in the UK for MacBook repairs, with no pressure or stress involved.
